Mãos Em Ação
Furf was invited by the Instituto Campana in partnership with Ôda Design Club, to be part of the Mãos em Ação (Hands in Action in Portuguese). The intention of the first chapter of this project is the rescue of natural fibers – by taking a fresh look and reinterpretations of this tradicional materials that are being forgotten.
Two days led by one of the world’s most acclaimed designer, Humberto Campana, had the participation of a brilliant team of creators. Experimentations that tested the applications and the potencial of wicker, resulted in a collection of objects.
The sculptures received German names, Schlamassel (jerry-rigged) and Maultier ohne Kopf (headless mule, an Amazon legend) were co-created with the German artist Henning Kudow and the mirror Light, that materialize with wicker the glow of the viewer, was created with Leonardo Sokolovicz. The Angel chair, an analogy to the iconic Furf’s Little Angel stool, and the Pinhão vase (a typical seed from the south of Brazil) re-signify old wovens and reveals the different natural color tones designed by the passage of time.
