Iris
Furf Design Studio teamed up with Mush, a startup founded by scientists, to develop a collection of products that provide thermoacoustic comfort empowered by biotechnology, made with mycelium and waste from Brazilian agro-industry.
Brazil is one of the major powers of agricultural production in the world as well as a giant of the construction industry. One generates exorbitant amounts of waste, while the other uses polymeric materials from non-renewable sources.
The Iris collection offers a more scientific, poetic and optimistic approach to interior design and puts the spotlight on a truly sustainable alternative for construction.
While other products made from mycelium are usually handcrafted and in small quantities, Mush is focused on mass production to meet the demands of the construction sector, while using the agricultural waste, as well as generating a positive impact on a large scale.
A futuristic manifestation of biophilia, that celebrates the transdisciplinary dialogue between specialties, with intelligence and creativity. Elegance with a touch of surrealism, inspired and raised by Nature.
Iris is a vision for a more sustainable future.
