Fiore

Fiore is a 3D-printed urban furniture planter made from biodegradable polymer, developed in collaboration with Designtech, designed for the Certosa district in Milan. Its form, inspired by traditional terracotta pots, emerges from the intersection of five modules, creating a flower that symbolizes local collaboration and innovation. Produced without waste and following the “zero kilometer” concept, the project will nurture over a hundred native trees, which will be replanted after two years in a new park in the neighborhood. Fiore reflects the union of tradition and innovation for urban sustainability.

The design transforms a familiar object into something new by digitally recreating the iconic Italian pot shape to form a flower. Made locally with biodegradable polymer, the planter aligns with sustainability and innovation values. The official launch took place at Milano Green Week, with over a hundred units distributed throughout the district.

The 3D printing process uses a single material, making recycling and complete reuse easier. This method ensures efficiency with almost zero waste, eliminating the need for large-scale factories or transportation, thus reducing emissions. Each piece is weather-resistant and vandal-proof, printed on large equipment, measuring approximately 80 square centimeters.

Fiore also drives the creation of a new park, with a significant impact on the urban and environmental revitalization of Certosa. With fast and sustainable production, the project reduces its carbon footprint and promotes a circular economy, connecting innovation, the urban environment, and nature in a living, collaborative way.
