Drop

The result of yet another project by Furf Design Studio in partnership with National Geographic, Drop is a gadget that indicates anomalies in the quality of rainwater, related to pollution.

Drop-shaped and with an intuitive clip, it is adaptable to attach to any conventional umbrella.

Rainwater enters through an upper opening and with a system created especially for the Drop, uses electrical conductivity sensors and a spectrometer connected to a board with microchips, alerts through the change of color of pulsating light when the rain shows any irregularity.

An extremely intuitive and visual indicator for the population to be aware of nature’s callings. When walking in the rain in the same city with the Drop in use, its colors may vary with the quality of the rainwater: blue (healthy) or magenta (anomaly detected).

Drop is a complex and technological system that is the result of months of research and tests, but which resulted in an intuitive, playful and adaptable product, so that Nature is more heard and seen by humanity.

Nature speaks, but people can only hear when she screams, and Drop serves as her gentle translator.
