Bloom

Designed with affection with Brava Forma, the Bloom collection rescues a traditional “Pampas gaúcho” technique in search of a local identity with a global language and re-signifies the use of the traditional buttons on the furniture.

In Portuguese, a “flower bud” is called a “flower button”.

“Perhaps the buttons of all the furniture in the world are flowers that have not yet bloomed.”

The redesign and provocation of replacing generic furniture buttons with leather flowers handmade with a traditional local technique. The use of the “flower of the Pampas” is a cultural rescue of braiding techniques forgotten by the new generations.

The Bloom line is a provocation to the awakening of the ordinary. To not just draw one piece of furniture, but re-signify all other pieces: “Why hasn’t this button bloomed yet?”

The production process is totally handmade, with local labor and materials of the highest quality. Extremely soft cushions placed on the backrests, sides, and seats, embrace and invite to an elegant comfort – the cast aluminum feet elevate the furniture to provide a visual lightness.

The manufacturing and choice of materials focus on sustainability, with the clear vision that high quality, timelessness, and durability are key factors in achieving it.

The flowers are all handmade: natural leather (derived from the disposal of the food industry) is cut into strips, dyed naturally without chemical pigments to maintain it’s natural characteristics and braided manually following the traditional techniques of the Pampas. 95% of all manufacturing residues of the Bloom are reused.

The Bloom collection is an example of how to expand applications of Brazilian crafts, to raise the relationship between tradition, innovation and the market.
